Steve Krontz's cartoon character holding a heat gun and a tint squeegee
About

A tint guy, not a call center.

MobileTinter is owned by Steve Krontz, who has spent nearly four decades in window film and writes about it as Mr. Window Tint.

Why it exists

Mobile tint is the most convenient way to get a car done and too often the least trustworthy: mystery film, no paperwork, nobody to call when an edge lifts. MobileTinter is built to be the opposite. You know the film by name before you book, you know who's coming, and there's a real company behind the job.

How it works

Drivers ask for a quote. A person checks the car, the film and the state's legal limits, then texts a price. The work is done where the car is parked by independent tint businesses we've checked out. If a spot can't take a clean install, because of wind, dust, rain or heat, we say so and move it instead of forcing it.

Where we are

We're opening city by city. You can ask from anywhere; if we can't cover your ZIP yet, we'll tell you and let you know when we can. Installers can join the list on the partner page.

Mr. Window Tint

Steve also runs Mr. Window Tint, where he compares films in plain English, tracks the film industry and publishes a free window film test. Mr. Window Tint discloses that he owns MobileTinter wherever the two meet.
